After a landowner in the parish of Bitton Info provided by Shaun Harris of North Common

Dudley Court:
After Dud Dudley, son of the Earl of Dudley b 1599. He escaped from Cromwell's men in 1656 and fled to Bristol with a broken leg ) (well, hobbled might be more accurate).

Earlstone Cres / Close:
Named after an old farmhouse either Earlstone house or Park.

Ellacombe Road:
The Ellacombes were clergymen at Bitton in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Exley Close:
Mrs (Ma) Exley, with her 2 daughters, owned a hardware emporium in the 1920's at what is now beauty salon in Warmley High Street.

Fawkes/Firework Close:

Francis Way:
After a past vicar of St Barnabas Church.

Godfrey Court:
Perhaps after Bishop Godfrey the first constable of Bristol

Goldney Avenue:
The Goldney family of Chippenham  owned Goldney Pit in Warmley.

Hampton Close:
After Philip Hampton who inherited the Barrs estate after 1484.

Hardwick Close:
Named after the Hardwicks who owned the farm at nearby Lees Lane.

Harris Court:
After Benjamin Harris, local boot mfr?

Haskins Court:
(Probably) after the Haskins Family, prominent in this area around 1900.

Horwood Court:
Could this have some connection with the family who farmed at Pucklechurch in the 1890s?. Or John Horwood who was hanged in the early 19th century for murdering Eliza Balsam of Hanham ?

Howes Close:
Named after a manager of the nearby Haskin's Pottery factory.

Isley Court:
Could be derived from Ilsyn - the name of a wood at Keynsham which was sometimes spelt Islings. It comes from the Old English name for elm trees
