Local
roadname derivations (introduction)
The objective here is to produce a comprehensive
list of the road names appearing locally along with
the derivation of the name. i.e. Windermere Way
after Lake Windermere. (I hope!)
Road names are grouped by type. i.e. lakes, farms
etc. I hope to include more detail for each road
name as and when information is forthcoming / time
permits.
To find your roadname; first search the A - Z
pages, then under generic names. If it's not on
either please let me know, I'll add it to the list
of unknowns on this page. With luck someone out
there may have the answer.
So far I've had little luck with officialdom
so feedback from the community is vital - PLEASE HELP.
